Isaiah 11:6 The Lion and the Lamb?

I am sure you have seen a lot of pictures, paintings, depictions, illustrations that have a lion lying with a lamb depicting what it will be like in the millennial reign of Christ.  This will be a time when the curse set in place when Adam sinned and the world was put under a curse (Gen 3). When Jesus comes to reign on the earth for 1000 years, this curse will be partially lifted and carnivorous best will be tame and docile animals will not have to fear.

The only problem with this is that there is no verse that talks about the lion lying with the lamb. Strangely enough after researching the Scriptures we find that the wolf will lie with the lamb…

Let’s take a look at what the verse actually says:

And the wolf will dwell with the lamb,
And the leopard will lie down with the young goat,
And the calf and the young lion and the fatling together;
And a little boy will lead them. Isa 11:6

So, this has been a great lesson for me! Just because I’ve always heard something does not make it true. This is especially important regarding Bible facts.
