It’s true, I was on a bit of a rant about what it takes to legally transfer a car into your name. I thought I would include you in the fun.
But wait…it’s not over! After posting last week, at the second police department, the officer found an extra 1 in the motor serial number so we had to restart the whole process by going back to the lawyer and afterhe made the correction we proceeded to go to the previous owner’s home to have him (and his wife) sign the papers again. Back to police #2, wait a day and return to police department #2 and we are currently at the paying the taxes part in the municipal office. One hour line up so far… Quite honestly I’ve lost track of how many hours it has taken. Not to worry though, we’re told that once we pay the transfer tax “it just takes a minute”.
Ironically, I seem to remember complaining about my 10 minute wait in line at service Ontario to do everything at one window.
EDIT: two pictures are needed before finishing at the municipal office. Maybe a bit more than a minute?
