A Time to Heal…Ecclesiastes 3:3
Ecclesiastes chapter 3 says there’s a time for everything. Even a time for healing. The last few months has been our turn to have a time of healing. It has been hardest time of our lives but it was met with God delivering us from hopelessness, distress, profound sorrow and instead giving us a deep sense of peace and joy. We thank the Lord for the fact that all of our different times can be walked through with God’s loving arms wrapped around you.
Go…baptize them. Matthew 28:19-20
3DTC is a great gap year program located in Beaumont, Texas. This year, during our stay, one of the students wanted to be baptized in the river nearby. So all of the staff and students of 3DTC headed to the river and held a baptism. I was asked to help out.
Baptism, is not an essential or non-essential necessity for salvation. It is an event where a believer can express their identification with the person and work of Jesus Christ.
Although we usually want to make sure people understand it is not necessary for salvation, in the first century, believers would get baptized immediately after believing the gospel, since baptism is what the Lord Jesus commanded.
3DTC – A Time to study
Ezr 7:10 For Ezra had set his heart to study the law of the LORD and to practice it, and to teach His statutes and ordinances in Israel.
3DTC has been a great experience for Nelly. She has been able to attend several classes since it started in September. It is such a blessing that the Lord has allowed us the time and that she has been able to dedicate her full attention to the study of Scripture.
Joining Nelly was also Isaí from CC3D in Cochabamba. It was fantastic that Isaí was able to come the US to be able to take advantage of the rest of the year and continue his Bible study. We’re hoping that next year he will either be able to continue studies at 3D in Texas or Cochabamba.
Yo Soy church takes the challenge
This year CC3D will take on a new turn for the better. Room and board will be hosted/run by a local church in Cochabamba. The church has seen what the Lord is doing through CC3D and being a discipleship minded church themselves, have pursued teaming up with us to see discipleship done as a gap year program in their church. We are very excited about this new turn that the Lord is directing.
2023 CC3D Calendar
We thought we’d include the 2023 CC3D calendar so that you can join us in prayer as the year goes on. The first day of classes begins the first of February and graduation is planned for the 16th of October.
Zechariah Rough Draft
We are grateful to the Lord for allowing me to finish a rough draft of the book of Zechariah in time for it to be edited and translated as we hope to teach it near the end of the 2023 school year. It is a daunting task but pray the Lord would give wings to those involved in the process to have it ready.
